Typical faults
Most reception problems come down to a handful of causes:
- Dish knocked out of alignment by a storm or the weight of snow
- Faulty LNB, for example due to moisture getting in
- Corroded F connectors or damaged cables
- Failed multiswitch power supply
- Incorrect programming of single-cable outlets
- Snow on the dish or a dish that is too small
Measuring instead of guessing
We check the system step by step with a signal meter – from the LNB through the multiswitch and splitters to the wall outlet. This lets us find the cause directly and replace only what is really faulty.
Regular maintenance
For communal systems and hotels in particular, regular checks pay off before wind, snow and moisture cause damage: we check the mounting and alignment, connectors and cables and measure the signal levels at the outlets.
- Troubleshooting of satellite, antenna and communal systems
- Repair and replacement of faulty components
- Realignment after a storm or building work
- Maintenance and level measurement of existing systems
- Troubleshooting of hotel TV systems and fibre links
Frequently asked questions
What can I check myself before I call?
Restart your TV or receiver, check that all cables are firmly connected and, in heavy snowfall or a thunderstorm, wait a little. If there is still no reception afterwards, or none in several rooms, the system itself is usually affected.
Why does my picture drop out when it rains?
Heavy rain weakens the satellite signal. If the system is precisely aligned and the dish is large enough, there is enough reserve. Frequent dropouts point to misalignment, an ageing LNB or poor connections.
Is it worth repairing an old system?
Often, yes: replacing individual components such as the LNB, connectors or multiswitch is frequently enough. After measuring, we tell you whether a repair or an upgrade makes more sense.
